INVITATION TO ATTEND OPENING OF EU-FUNDED CARGO CHECKPOINT AT RAVA RUSKA

On 21 of October 2008 at 12:00 the official opening after reconstruction of the international cargo check point through state border of Ukraine “Rava Ruska” will take place, the check point is situated: Lviv Region, Rava Ruska.

The reconstruction of the check point received funding from the EU in the amount of €8.43 million. Additionally €421 thousand was used to fund equipment supplies to Rava Ruska.

On the occasion of beginning of operating one of the biggest and newest check points in Europe, members of the press are cordially invited to Rava Ruska and to witness its importance not only for Ukraine but also for the countries of EU.

Journalists who will be present at the event will be able to visit the check point, to acquaint themselves with its working practices and also to take part in press conference in which high-ranking officials from State Customs Service, State Frontier Service, Ministry of Economy and the Delegation of the European Commission in Ukraine will take part.

Only Journalists accredited by Press Service of State Customs Service will be admitted to these events.

Taking into account potential limitation of the number of accreditations at the event, as well as issues related to the work and confidentiality of the check point, the Press Service of the State Customs Service requests that journalists wishing to attend the opening do so to the co-ordinates below before 17:00 on Wednesday 15 October 2008.
