European Association of Ukrainians (EAU) is a union of Ukrainians in European Union with main office in Brussels and representatives in Paris, Strasbourg, Munik, and Berlin. Association was established in 2006 as a result of a durable work of Ukrainians and representatives of Ukrainian Diasporas in Europe.

Main aim of EAU is to develop and strengthen cooperation between Ukraine and European Union.

Association has for an aim:
     - promotion and advocacy of interests of Ukraine and Ukrainians in EU;
     - popularization of Ukraine, creation and support of its positive image in EU;
     - support of constant and effective dialogue of Ukrainian community with institutions and civic society in European union.

EAU already today promotes European integration of Ukraine. Main activity of Association is implemented in political, economical, social, cultural and youth aspects of cooperation between Ukraine and European Union.

 European Association of Ukrainians today

Establishment of international network of Ukrainians. In 2007 European Association of Ukrainians has created a big international network of activists, who work in different countries of European Union. Meanwhile main office of Association in Brussels has become an important center of communication and coordination of Ukrainians in European Union and their interaction with bodies of local self-government. We constantly conduct trainings and educational meetings for Ukrainian activists in Brussels with an aim of strengthening their social activism.

 Development of relations with politicians in EU. During 2007 representatives of EAU had more than 20 meetings with the MEPs, during which political situation in Ukraine, social and economical issues of European integration of Ukraine as well as issue of international cooperation were discussed. European Association of Ukrainians became an essential source of information from European deputies. Besides of meetings in Brussels, Association has also organized a meeting of European Deputies with leaders of Ukrainian non-governmental organizations and analytical centers in Kiev.

Organization of discussions in the capital of European Union. Conduction of international round-tables dedicated to issues of current importance for Ukraine is one of the most important forms of work of the Association. On the 21 of March 2007 in the capital of European Union, Brussels took place first international round-table of European Association of Ukrainians “Ukraine and EU: issue of energy security”. Participants of the round-table were Deputies of European Parliament, international experts and representatives of Ukrainian analytical centers. Informational materials from a round table were disseminated in European institutions and have provoked a big interest.

Ukrainian lobby in European Union. European Association of Ukrainians has started working on formation in European Parliament pro-Ukrainian platform of the deputies. This platform will represent and promote interests of Ukraine in EU. Deputies of different political fractions will be in constant contact with Association. We will start organization of different events having Ukraine as a subject-matter. European Association of Ukrainians is currently proceeding with a registration of a lobby-group of Ukrainian interests in European Parliament. Similar procedure is started with Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe in Strasbourg.

Direct Actions. Sometimes such measure as diplomatic instruments is not enough to attract attention of European community to the problems of Ukraine. In 2007 European Association of Ukrainians has conducted few meetings and piquet in Brussels as well as in other countries of European Union. Ukrainians living abroad are activists of European Association of Ukrainians who are ready to protect interests of their home-country in any legal and accessible manner.

 Popularization of Ukraine in Europe. European Association of Ukrainians has started realization of image-building events, aimed towards popularization of Ukraine in European Union under the name “Ukrainian promotion in Europe”. On the 24 of August 2007 Association has organized in Brussels extraordinary and exceptional events on celebration of Independence Day of Ukraine. Thy were: ceremonial reception of Mayor of Brussels in City Hall, march of Ukrainians on the streets of the city, and finally symbolic dressing of a symbol of European Union - «Manneken Pis» in Ukrainian national dress. This action had a laud international resonance and has gathered hundreds of Ukrainians from different cities of Europe.
